Come to the press conference and send off for the CodePINK Caravan heading to Creech AFB! Better yet, JOIN the caravan! Head to Creech with the CodePINK Truck, spread the word about DRONES, protest in various cities and towns along the way. Planned press conferences and actions at San Jose, Gilroy, Los Banos, Madera, and Fresno for Friday; Bakersfield and Barstow for Saturday.

Anti-war activists promise that Monday morning at Creech Air Force Base in the Mojave Desert will not be another "business as usual" day for those 250+ soldiers who drink their coffee, kiss the kids goodbye, leave home to go to their computer terminals, grab their joy sticks, and direct DRONES thousands of miles away to murder people in Pakistan, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Monday will be the third and longest day of the Take 5 Days of ACTION Against the DRONES protests planned at the base by people from all over the country committed to taking action against the use of these DRONES by the U.S. military to spy on, hunt down, and then kill people. DRONES are rapidly changing the face of war, according to the military themselves. In 2009, the military had a couple hundred DRONES; by January 2009, 7000 DRONES were in operation and six months later that number skyrocketed again to 12,000. The military intends to increase the DRONES force to be at least 15% of the fighting force. Soldiers and politicians are seen to favor the DRONES because it means elinimating other human beings with no risk at all to American lives, although the problem of the high rate of civilian death is 'concerning'. "For every one 'bad guy' assassinated", says CodePINK activist Janet Weil, "50 civilians are also murdered. This is unconscionable. Emergency Round Table on DRONES

In 2001 when we invaded Afghanistan, our military had around 100 drones; in January of 2009, when Obama took office, we had about 7000; today we have 12,000. Drones are unmanned planes remotely operated by soldiers behind a computer console in Creech, Nevada (and other U.S. locations), to spy on people around the world and to kill them. For every one "bad guy" assassinated by drones, 50 civilians are also murdered. Help turn up the heat against these horrific assassins our military is using to murder people around the world without directly risking U.S. life, and with little if any legal let alone moral justification for these Drone assassinations.
